The European Congress of LegalTech chooses Madrid for its 2019’s edition

  • From November 20th to 22nd, around 200 professionals will meet.
  • It will bring together leading experts in innovation, digital transformation and LegalTech from around the world.

Next November, Madrid will become the European capital of LegalTech during the European Congress of LegalTech #ELTACON2019. CEU San Pablo University will co-host the congress, as announced by the European LegalTech Association (ELTA).

The congress will begin on Wednesday 20 with an exclusive event for ELTA members and will continue on the 21st and 22nd with lectures and roundtables on innovation, digital transformation LegalTech, articulated through the three pillars: people, processes and platforms. Some of the world’s most renowned experts in these fields will meet in Madrid.

As Tobias Heinig, President of ELTA, points out, «Some of the best international LegalTech experts have already confirmed their attendance as speakers. However, the poster of speakers is still not completely closed because we have opened so that those professionals who consider that they have something interesting to tell in the congress, can propose their participation». María Jesús González-Espejo, vice-president of ELTA and managing partner of the Institute for Legal Innovation, has been responsible for bringing the Congress to Madrid and, in recognition, the Madrid City Council has awarded her with the title of «Ambassador of Madrid» and has paid her a tribute in the Caja de Música Auditorium together with 22 other ambassadors in which she declared that «Madrid has the potential to be an innovation hub in the field of Justice. Bringing this congress to the city will make it possible to bring technology and the latest trends closer to Spanish jurists and to learn about good practices and technologies from other countries, as well as expanding its network of contacts with experts in these fields. The legal sector needs a profound transformation and congresses like these undoubtedly help to make it a reality».

ELTA is a non-profit association. Attendees will have to pay a small fee, the price of which varies depending on whether they are members of ELTA or not. The European Congress of LegalTech will be possible thanks to the collaboration of organizations such as the Universidad CEU San Pablo, the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid (ICAM) or the Casa de León de Madrid.

About ELTA: ELTA is made up of law firms, companies, legal technology providers, start-ups and individuals in Europe. The association is a platform for the promotion of knowledge about, and possible application of, technological and software-based solutions in the legal market, as well as their uses in companies, law firms, start-ups and other initiatives in this field.
